Gary Vaynerchuk is a serial entrepreneur and the CEO and co-founder of VaynerMedia. Gary is also one of the most sought after public speakers alive today. He is a venture capitalist and a 4-time New York Times bestselling author.
On this episode, I talk to Gary Vaynerchuk about finalizing the media plan for my real estate business. You’ll see he not only gives fantastic advice, but a huge dose of encouragement too. Here are a few highlights from our discussion.
Gary Vee’s Tips for The Bob Wahl Show
1. Decide you are the St. Louis Times, and you’ll win.
Don’t think about being the local real estate company. Think about becoming the local media company. Interview company principals and business owners in all industries. The mindset – you are a media company that does real estate business, not the other way around.
2. Just start making sh**.
Produce videos and interviews with prominent businesses. Then run Facebook ads targeting people in the St. Louis area. Don’t wait till everything is perfect. The show will evolve and you will grow into it. Just start making sh**.
3. Make it about three things.
Choose three subjects you’ll cover on the show to put into your show introduction. What is it about? Keep it simple. “Welcome to the Bob Wahl Show, where we talk business, St. Louis, and real estate!” He also suggested to release the video show in podcast format and recommended to post any day during the week, Monday through Friday, between 8am and 11am.
4. Use your name.
Is it better to create separate shows for each topic? Should the title of the show include some keywords for SEO? Gary says no. Use your personal name and keep all topics under one umbrella. The quality of the content will turn your name into a brand that will be known. Also, use your name on your fan page and other social profiles for better engagement. Add the link of the Youtube show and your social profiles to your professional email signature.
Just Get Started
Gary Vaynerchuk emphasizes on getting started with creating content. His advice can help any business owner or fellow agent, so I wanted to include you all on my journey and watch me go through the trial and error. I’m determined to make this work and will regularly post videos of value that are educational and fun to watch.
Thanks Gary Vee!
